Burgoo International Cook-off
Columbus Day Weekend
According to the Dictionary of American Regional English: "Burgoo is a highly seasoned stew made of any combination of fowl game, other meats and vegetables, usually cooked in a large pot outdoors." Cash prizes are awarded for the stew judged to be the best. There is also an apple pie contest with cash prizes. Once judging is completed visitors have a chance to sample the stews. If you've ever wanted to taste bear, squirrel, elk or just about any other wild game you should come and check it out. Lots of fun and great food.
